This isn't what I'd usually blog about but I love reading other people's holiday posts and seeing other parts of the world and planning future holidays. On Tuesday 22nd we flew to Spain Majorca and are currently Santa Ponça which is a beautiful little place in between El Torro and Magaluf, this place is brilliant if you'd like to visit Magaluf but don't actually way to stay there. We flew at night we took off at 10.45 and arrived at 2.05 which is 1.05 in UK time. We decided to go all inclusive as it saves so much money which we don't have much of whoops. Victoria's Secret at the airport you know the dangers then closely followed by a Mac stall which didn't have Whirl or Velvet Teddy WHY! We've only been here one day so far and to be honest I'm shattered because of the night flight so kinda looking forward to walking along the beach and getting into bed! I'm not going to talk about outfits as I'm going to do a massive holiday outfit post when I'm home and I can really blog. I'm struggling on an iPhone 6 😭 The one thing I love about this place is everybody is so friendly I've already made a group of friends and they are so welcoming. So far it's lovely having my boyfriend all to myself, no work and just doing what we want when we want, even if I have to watch Arsenal Vs Tottenham in a bar joys of being a girlfriend. Will keep you updated, let me know if you've ever been here! So it's a little bit crazy that I've been blogging for 6 months, I don't know where the time went and to be honest I didn't know whether I'd still be doing it. I'm usually one of those people who starts something does it for a bit then forgets about it but this is something I've kept going and I'm still growing. I have 76 followers on Bloglovin' Which I never expected and to some it's not many but knowing that at least 76 of you read my blog is enough for me to keep it going.
Want to read my first ever post? http://drugstorejunkie.weebly.com/drugstore-junkie/archives/04-2015/2 Those were my first ever posts on here when it was strictly beauty but I really want to blog about other things now ,outfits, dates etc. If you started at the beginning with me then thank you for staying with me! I love reading all your comments and love reading all your blogs<3 Also make sure you follow my brand new facebook page over at facebook.com/drugstorejunkie I'm doing a MAC lipstick giveaway of your choice. Follow me at bloglovin to keep up-to date with all my new posts - https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/drugstore-junkie-blog-13992724 This isn't my usual blog post but I think it will be an important one. Oh and to the random boy who's probably reading this hoping for some bra pictures you are in the wrong place, sorry. I always see statistics saying '80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size' I'd think to myself how can people get this wrong you can tell if a bra fits or not can't you? Well I went to London with my boyfriend for his 21st and I've always wanted to go to Victoria's Secret as I'm always looking online but I'd hate to pay the £30 shipping rates. I visited VS on Bond Street in London which I think is a flagship store or it should be anyway, It was amazing it was like being in a designer bedroom the stairs all had clear crystals as rails it honestly was amazing. I wanted to go to the PINK range as that's what I liked, a lady overheard me and sent me downstairs to the PINK range, I spent ages and ages looking for a bra that I'd seen online and found out it had gone into the sale so I found the new collection which was pretty much the same the lady showed me all the different types and asked if I'd been measured and I saw no. She introduced me to a girl called Amanda who was lovely and she took me into the fitting room asked me what size I was wearing and what styles I liked. I told her that I was wearing a 34B it was a old bra and I think I bought it because I needed a black bra she measured me up and said I was a 29 band but the smallest they do in store is a 32 and cup size she put me at a D so 32D I almost burst out laughing me a 32D? She bought me a nude coloured beige body bra and I tried it and it fit. I rang the little doorbell which they have in the fitting rooms so you can change in private and said it was perfect she offered to get me some more styles but I refused as I'd left my poor boyfriend outside on his own probably feeling a bit awkward. She gave me a little card with all the information I'd need, You can see I tried on the 'Body by Victoria' in a 32D and it fit perfectly. I picked up the one I wanted and found the matching knickers and went to pay feeling £40 down I couldn't quite believe I'd worn a bra two cup sizes smaller for a good 7/8 years of my life how could I get it so so wrong? So girls before thinking those statistic's are wrong go get measured. The only thing now is I can't quite get my head around D cup boobs you think they are going to be really big but they get bigger by the band size because the cups are bigger so a 36D is going to be alot bigger than a 32D even though they are called a 'D cup'. VS get slated alot for sizing people wrong as I believe they only sell from A-DDD so alot of stores have been slated for sizing people wrong so they buy their bra's from them. That's enough talk about boobs for one day! Also make sure you follow my brand new facebook page over at facebook.com/drugstorejunkie I'm doing a MAC lipstick giveaway of your choice. Follow me at bloglovin to keep up-to date with all my new posts - https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/drugstore-junkie-blog-13992724 I know its not actually winter but sometimes autumn can be really cold so this is a mixture of autumn and winter in one. I personally love winter I love layering up and scarves I obsess over, so I'm that annoying person who cannot wait for summer to be over then get half way through winter wanting summer back, sorry.
Please note some of these aren't hack's they are just winter idea's. 1. Bad cough? Put Vicks on your feet and put on some fluffy socks and the next day you'll feel a lot better, well I did anyways. 2. Are you one of those girls who always has a little hand sanitizer in your bag? Did you know it will also melt your icy car door locks? or another alternative is to light your key with a lighter as this will also melt the ice. 3. Another car related tip which I haven't tried but apparently if you put socks over your window wipers it will prevent them from freezing. 4. Use last years jumpers that you won't wear this year to make cute mittens its super easy and here's a tutorial - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9D-CPdGi5A 5. Are you going to watch a football game or have you got to stand in the same place for a long time? Take some cardboard to stand on it will you keep you much warmer than standing on a freezing cold floor. 6. Bright red nose before your night out on the town? Before covering it up with make-up and every type of concealer you own apply a warm not hot flannel to it this will calm all the blood vessels in your nose. 7. Do you have a beautiful lipstick you adore but want a matte shade for the winter? add loose face powder over any lipstick and it will turn it matte but make sure you apply some sort of chapstick before doing this as it can be drying. 8. Has your mascara got cold and dried up? Put the tube into a small glass of hot water for 5 minutes and it will almost renew it so you can use it again. 9. Winter means wind which means bad hair days, if you have a spare tooth brush spray it with hairspray and this can help tame any flyaways. I really didn't want to leave it on a odd number 9 but that's the way it goes, I hope these facts are helpful I'm the type of person who will spend hours reading these but forget them all when I need them. So here are my top tips on how you may be able to get some free samples.
1. Don't start your blog and request samples - you need to grow your blog and your audience you need to promote and follow other bloggers so you can get an audience. Nobody's going to give away samples if nobody's going to see your review. 2. Start small - Don't start by emailing Mac or Benefit these are huge companies who want bloggers with large followings. You're better off looking for smaller companies who may need people to basically advertise for them. 3. Think about what your writing - Most of my samples I get I had to work for I'd spend a long time typing up different emails linking all my blogposts to show off my work. You need to sound professional. 4. Offer to pay for postage - This isn't essential but sometimes I offer because it's polite these companies are giving you free products which are from their business the least you can do is put the offer there. 5. Request samples you are interested in - Don't message a company of you have no passion in it, it will show in the blog post and be a let down. 6. Follow the guidelines - If a blog wants to have there link shown 3 times make show you do it, the only time I won't do something is if I don't believe in it for instance 'make sure you tell everybody how great it is' That is something I will not do no matter what the brand is. 7. Don't be disheartened - Sometimes companies have enough bloggers and they don't need anybody else always make sure you reply to these emails because they may need you some day. 8. Join Networks - Google blog networks there is many out there such as 'Brandbacker' and ' The Blogger Network' these are great to sign up for because the companies put up what they need and you can apply for as many as you like. Also make sure you follow my brand new facebook page over at facebook.com/drugstorejunkie I'm doing a MAC lipstick giveaway of your choice. Follow me at bloglovin to keep up-to date with all my new posts - https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/drugstore-junkie-blog-13992724 I feel as if I haven't done a classic good old review for ages, probably because I've been trying to save some money and not buy every single beauty item I read about. Today I'm talking about Rightguard Shower Oils Shower Gel, I think I picked this up in tesco a for about £1 and because I have such dry skin I thought the oil would be good for it. This contains 3 oils Marula, Argan and Almond oil which are super good for your skin. There was a couple of different bottles but I picked up the one which said 'dull skin' and to be honest I can't remember what the others were for. I've used this a good few times and even while I was camping and using freezing cold showers. It's left my skin feeling really soft and my dry patches have cleared up which is a bonus for me, it also lava's up really well so you don't need much. The only thing is the scent doesn't last which doesn't bother me as it's only a cheap shower gel it's more of a fresh moisturising smell if that makes any sense. If you are looking for a cheap shower gel which is really moisturising and good for dry skin I would recommend this one. Follow me at bloglovin to keep up-to date with all my new posts - https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/drugstore-junkie-blog-13992724 This is the first Mac lipstick that I was like 'I need this' since trying matte lipstick's Ive always wanted that perfect brown/pink shade and it ticks all the boxes. I never really understood the 'Velvet Teddy' hype I just thought it was Matte pink shade but I must admit I'm debating it now. I know my blog is a 'budget' blog but sometimes I have to have the real thing before I can find you a perfect dupe but I've heard NYX 1000 Years is a good one but back to Mac... First of all I was super lucky to get this as it seems to be out of stock at the moment I think its going to be the whole 'Velvet Teddy' and 'Whirl' situation all over again, so good luck girls. Although as I'm writing this it is in stock but you won't see this until its posted which is a few days later. On the Mac website it is described as 'Muted grey ish taupe brown' I haven't found the perfect lipliner for it yet as I like to get a slightly different shade but the good thing about this lipstick is like Whirl it started as a lipliner. This shade isn't a everyday shade although I did rock it too work but its more of a night out shade or a special occasion and I definalty think its more for a tanned tone as I think it would completley wash you out. Stone is also a shade which looks different on everybody sometimes its more brown sometimes it more grey, the best thing about this lipstick is the stay factor it really does last all day. I think I topped it but twice and it was only the middle of my mouth the edges were perfect and it kinda looked good more faded in the middle as it gave more of an ombre look.
Since I've cancelled my Mr Blanc subscription I've decided to buy one lipstick a month so I can build up a collection my next one will have to be either Whirl or Velvet Teddy. P.S I loved my Mr Blanc but my teeth wouldn't go much more whiter! So thats my top 5 series at the moment let me know if you start any of them! This isn't my usual post but everybody nowadays seems to be watching Netflix or talking about it and I see so many people asking about what good to watch on it. I think Netflix is such a great idea that somebody had and hasn't charged us a fortune for it also the kids section, well if you're a 90s kid have look. I thought I'd share my favourite series as Saturday is my netflix day and I usually spend longer searching for things to watch rather than actually watching it.. 1. Pretty Little Liars (PLL) This was probably where my Netflix addiction started I was sat around my boyfriend's whilst he was at work and I wanted something to keep me busy and hopefully kill some time. I found this and a rough summary is a girl goes missing one night and the other girls recieve texts from somebody who knows all their secrets. I don't want to tell you too much as its worth watching and the whole PLL fandom is great but don't go on twitter as the mystery has been kinda solved we solved one part but as you'll see with PLL nothings ever straight forward. You'll have one question answered and you'll have hundreds more besides did I mention hot guys? 2. Orange Is The New Black (OITNB) This is probably the most hyped up series on Netflix as it is a Netflix orginal. My boyfriend and I watched this together so its defiantly one for both genders plus lots of naked girls. Its basically a regualr girl who gets sent to prison for drug smuggling which happened a few years ago, again I don't want to give too much away because you may watch it but I cannot wait until another season. This isn't something you want to watch with your parents around unless you have super cool parents who don't make you feel awkard when watching a lesbian sex shower scene. This has got many stories in it and you really learn about all the different characters its not porn I promise. 3. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt This is another Netflix orginal and this was advertised all over Netflix. The sad thing about this is there is only one season *sobs*, It's super easy to watch and such good comedy I watched this one again with my boyfriend and as every episode is only half hour it won't take you long to get through it and you'll soon be googling dates for the next series. This one is about a girl (Kimmy) who is trapped underground for 15 years because a Reverand told them the world would suffer from a nuclear explosion meanning they'd be safe down there so this her life as she gets out. Also the theme tune is brilliant! 4. The Vampire Diaries Okay so I haven't actually watched this one... yet. I've heard loads about it and my boyfriend watches it so I've seen bits and I think its his second time around watching it. This is about a vampire who goes back to where he's born and raised 600 years later (roughly don't quote me) he then falls in love with a girl and his brother comes into this mix making it a huge love triangle. Sorry if that was brief my boyfriend is a man of many words when he has his xbox controller in his hand. 5. Once Upon A Time
I won't lie with this one I've kinda forgotten about it.. This is about 6 seasons long and they are all about an hour and its a very complicated storyline. From what I've watched so far its about a boy who believes that everybody in his town is a fairytale character and obviously nobody believes him but when his real mum comes back on the scene shes the only one who starts to believe him. I really want to get back into this and I will. So thats my top 5 series at the moment let me know if you start any of them! Also make sure you follow my brand new facebook page over at facebook.com/drugstorejunkie I'm doing a MAC lipstick giveaway of your choice. Follow me at bloglovin to keep up-to date with all my new posts - https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/drugstore-junkie-blog-13992724 Thanks for reading! I've never seen anybody do this sort of tag so I hope I haven't stolen this off of anybody, I always see girls doing monthly favourites and empties but what happens to the products that are left to fall to the back of the draw never to be seen again until you do a make-up sort out. I've picked out 5 products here that I still love but don't use for different reasons... MAC Red A14 Is it just me who's noticed that at the moment red lipstick isn't so much of a 'thing' that it used to be? At the moment it's all about the nudes or dark lipsticks whilst this is just a classic red. I think that's one of the main reasons I don't use it anymore, I really hope red lips do make a comeback but for now I think it's all about the nudes. Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation I should never have bought this foundation as its a matte foundation and I have super dry skin but I did anyway and it did give an amazing coverage but I felt as if it fell into all my creases, the only reason I'd use this again would be for a photoshoot or a time where I'd want flawless skin. This would have been perfect if I'd have had oily skin but I haven't which is why it's been so neglected. Technic Mega Nudes I've never actually used this I swatched it but never used it and the only reason I didn't use it was because I bought my W7 In The Buff palette at the same time so I was focussing on using that and creating looks, I was going to put it in a give away but I'd swatched it. I will use this palette at some point I know I will because I always run out of brown eyeshadows first which you can tell from the other two palettes. MUA Winterforest I loved this palette and I think it was one of the first things I had ever bought from MUA and it was an impulse buy I saw the bright aqua blue and had to have it, although I've only used the blue once when I dressed up as Elsa like I've said quite a few times I only wear nude or neutral eyeshadows so it was a stupid buy but it is a pretty palette but I have got the complete W7 collection which is why I don't touch any of these. MUA Hall Of Fame I really liked this palette as unlike Winterforest it had some shimmer shades but they were all browns or greys, you can see the colour I used up the most as I think its the same shade in both of them. It would have probably been alot cheaer to just buy that single one but the 'Hall Of Fame' was supposed to be a palette of all the best selling eyeshadows put into one. I used to use this palette everyday I actually feel pretty sad for it now, okay Katy thats sad. Feel free to copy this tags girls I'd love to see what gets forgotten about in your drawers or storage and maybe talking about these make-up products will make you love them again, Thank you for reading be sure to follow me on bloglovin- https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/drugstore-junkie-blog-13992724 Katy xox |
