I love these sorts of posts! I love reading what make-up wear and what there wearing so I thought I'd start this with a selfie I took from Saturday night. First all I started with my MAC Studio Fix NW15 with Collect 2000 concealer in Fair, I think I'm the only blogger but I don't like or use the beauty blender it just doesn't work for me and I just find they use so much product, I used the Real Techniques Core Collection Buffing Brush. I didn't wear much on my eyes I just used a mixture of Maybelline Lash Sensational and Colossal as one is thickening and the other separates the lashes. I used W7 Bronzer out of the 'Cheeky Trio' Pallet as its not too dark for me. On my lips I went for my absolute favourite Kylie Lip Kit in Dolce K. My top/bodysuit is from Topshop and you can get here for only £19. Going on holiday means one thing duty free! Whilst at the airport in Luton I checked out the Mac counter as I was debating between 'Whirl' and 'Velvet Teddy' after doing the typical swatching I decided that 'Whirl' had won me over a bit more as it was darker and you know after my love for Mac 'Stone' that I prefer darker shades but at Luton they had none. I left disappointed but coming back from my holiday I visited a small little Mac counter at Palma de Mallorca and they had 'Whirl' so I had to have it and it was only £13 so a slight saving! I can already tell this is going to be my new everyday shade, I still love Mac 'Stone' but it is more of an evening lipstick because it's very dark. It's a very pink, mauve shade with a hint of brown which I love and obviously it Matte which means it lasts so much longer, I'm not sure if the formula is different but after wearing this for a few days I find it more moisturising than 'Stone' and I'm not sure why. It's such a nice nude shade and I think it's one which will suit most skin tones.
Did I mention I love it? Do you want to get 'Whirl' for free? I never really understood the 'Velvet Teddy' hype I just thought it was Matte pink shade but I must admit I'm debating it now. I know my blog is a 'budget' blog but sometimes I have to have the real thing before I can find you a perfect dupe but I've heard NYX 1000 Years is a good one but back to Mac... First of all I was super lucky to get this as it seems to be out of stock at the moment I think its going to be the whole 'Velvet Teddy' and 'Whirl' situation all over again, so good luck girls. Although as I'm writing this it is in stock but you won't see this until its posted which is a few days later. On the Mac website it is described as 'Muted grey ish taupe brown' I haven't found the perfect lipliner for it yet as I like to get a slightly different shade but the good thing about this lipstick is like Whirl it started as a lipliner. This shade isn't a everyday shade although I did rock it too work but its more of a night out shade or a special occasion and I definalty think its more for a tanned tone as I think it would completley wash you out. Stone is also a shade which looks different on everybody sometimes its more brown sometimes it more grey, the best thing about this lipstick is the stay factor it really does last all day. I think I topped it but twice and it was only the middle of my mouth the edges were perfect and it kinda looked good more faded in the middle as it gave more of an ombre look.
Since I've cancelled my Mr Blanc subscription I've decided to buy one lipstick a month so I can build up a collection my next one will have to be either Whirl or Velvet Teddy. P.S I loved my Mr Blanc but my teeth wouldn't go much more whiter! So thats my top 5 series at the moment let me know if you start any of them! Also make sure you follow my brand new facebook page over at facebook.com/drugstorejunkie I'm doing a MAC lipstick giveaway of your choice. Follow me at bloglovin to keep up-to date with all my new posts - https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/drugstore-junkie-blog-13992724 Thanks for reading! First thing first I'm the realist. I can never type first things first without busting into the next Iggy as most of you know I'm jetting off to Spain in September and one thing I do not want to take with me is a lot of make up so I opted for a cc cream. Being honest with you I hardly any time to have a look as I was in a rush but I grabbed this one the Loreal Nude Magique I went for the green one because I have a lot of red undertones. I overall just wanted a cc cream that gave me fairly good coverage that wasn't too sticky, this one has proved itself very well. I decided to try it too a party as it was hot we'd be outside I couldn't really be bothered to do my make up if I'm honest. I did touch up a few areas with my Mac foundation but I could have left them. When applying the product it comes out green which did worry me because I was thinking how is this going to make me look good at all?! but as soon as you rub it in it gives a nice glowy dewy looks. I set it with some powder as I like a matte finish and I had to add some bronzer to my chest and neck as it was a shade out for me but when I'm tanned it'll be perfect. I'd say this is a NW25 tone but I made it work on my little NW15 face. The price tag did put me off a tad £9.99 which is more than most drugstore foundations but I took the plunge got to the till point and she pointed out they have a 2 for £12 on all Loreal products so I went back and bought the Miss Manga Black Angel mascara still not sure on it yet, so £12 wasn't bad really when I saved about £7. I'd rate this product an easy 8/10 good coverage and nice glow. It'll defiantly be going to Spain with me. I'm looking for a waterproof mascara next girls what's a good one? Thanks for reading. Katy xox This is my honest review on Mr Blanc Whitening strips I can't remember how I found these or what made me want to try them but anyways! I love the packaging the colours really stand out its plain simple and sleek, when I first bought these I bought a 4 day course for around £5 but they didn't come with the box they came in the little packets. I recieved this super quick when I ordered and I've actually subscribed monthly so you can tell already I love these, I ordered on a Thursday late night and I recieved them Saturday morning and the delivery note even told me who picked my order. "Mr Blanc is a natural and peroxide free teeth-whitening product that if used correctly, will get your teeth looking and feeling whiter in 14 days" When using these you plae a strip on the bottom and top of your teeth then leave them on for 30minutes which does seem like a long time but they stick super well so you can still talk etc, just don't eat or drink cause it might cause it to slip off. After pulling the strips off you'll have what feels like a jelly all over your teeth so brush your teeth and admire the results I noticed from day one. I'm doing a blog post this week with the lovely Katie Harper Penman who runs her own beauty and lifestyle blog you can have a look at it here. I can't remember how I found her blog but I think it was through some shameless self promoting via twitter she is a lovely girl and tagged me in one of her tags posts, our blogs are very alike we both look at low cost beauty trends which parts highend. This collab is going to show you 3 products which we love and 3 products we regretted buying. Some of these products you might love and some you might hate but these didnt work for us or we didn't like them,
Our Beauty Essentials. Katie: At the top of my beauty essentials list has got too be my Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. This is the best thing for chapped lips. For years I swore by Cherry flavoured carmex and I found this about a year ago and couldnt understand how I had never come across this! I like to put it on at night when my lips are feeling particularly dry or chapped and they are so smooth by the morning! Would recommend to everyone and you can find it cheaper on allbeauty.com! I love coming home to parcels its like Christmas in the middle of the week! So I thought I'd share some of the things I'd bought with you. 1. 7 piece ring set. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281668333510?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT These were from Hong Kong and took about 14 days to arrive roughly, they came packaged well. Obviously I wouldn't wear these all together but 7 rings for 99p? yes please. Some of these are adjustable and some of them are slightly too big but I have tiny fingers so I can hardly complain when I say tiny I mean Size 50. 2. Nail Varnish Stand. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008KGSYLI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 This stand holds approx 45 bottles and I've decided to use this mainly for my ever growing Barry M collection, this stand was only £9.99 and free postage it arrived in a big box with loads of padding. It arrived in around 3/4 days so super quick and it was bigger than I thought so that was a win I guess! 3. Eyelashes. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360498436372?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT 10 pairs of eyelashes for only £3.79 from the UK aswell I've recently decided to try and wear false eyelashes everyday because I find taking off mascara every night a bit of a chore call me lazy if you want. I'm mega fussy when it comes to eyelashes even for a night out I hate HATE hate the ones which crossover eachother at the top if you know what I mean it looks so unatural, I also hate huge thick ones you look like a drag queen hun. These ones however feel so soft I haven't actually tried them yet and they have a clear strip which makes them look more natural hopefully these well replace my mascara! 4. Eyebrow Razor. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251947695017?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT This little thing is a god send for only 99p(from hong kong) I ordered this along with the rings as it was from the same ebay shop. This comes with two different razors and it perfect for shaping if you don't like plucking! I use it to make sure I don't get a monobrow and the bits that hurt too much to pluck! This was a very short blogpost but you can really find some cool things on ebay for not alot of money. What different things have you picked up on ebay/amazon? Katy xox 1. BLUE MASCARA. Oh my god this was a awful stage at when I first started using make-up, my mum only wanted me using coloured mascara because she didn't want me looking older than I was. I used to think I was so cool with blue mascara and it wasn't a slight blue it was electric blue! 2. BRIGHT PINK BLUSHER. So along with the blue mascara I had bright pink cheeks I must have looked like a clown but at the time I felt great. The worst part is it was on my actual cheeks in almost perfect circles like a china doll. 3. BLUE EYESHADOW AND EYELINER. During my emo stage basically wanted to be Avril Lavigne stage, I'd have massive black smokey eyes like panda's. Not just on eyelids like all around my eyes, obviosuly Avril Lavigne looked amazing I looked like I was going to a halloween party everyday. 4. BAD EYEBROWS. So I'll admit it wasn't until about 2012 that I realised how bad my eyebrows really were basically they looked like C's basically C eyebrows I'll even put a picture to show how bad they are but please don't judge me! I thought they looked good, maybe I should take a picture of all these make up errors on myself now just so you can see and it would be a fun blog post? Let me know what you think in the comments. 5. FOUNDATION LIPS.
Now I know this one wasn't just me because basically the whole of year 9 was doing it and we thought we looked great until it dried went flakey and fell off. Also how bad did my lips get when I did this it would literally dry my lips out. What are your biggest make-up mistakes? I think I had enough for everybody tbh. Thanks for reading :) If you read my last blogpost then you'll know about where I picked this product up from if you haven't you can click it here. I picked up this copy of Benefit They're Real mascara by a brand called W7 as you can see from the packaging alone its basically a copy the silver tube and the orange writing it does feel slighty cheaper as it was only £3 and its slightly more mirrored if you can see what I mean. I've been looking for a good dupe for this as it's a amazing mascara but £20 each month is a lot of money for me to spend every few months on a mascara. I was very shocked at how similar this product is compared to the Benefit one it add curls does get a little bit clumpy but I found the Benefit one to be clumpy after a few coats. I could quite happily use Benefit on one eye and this on the other and it would look no different, the best perk of this is how it comes off I found Benefit so hard to get off which I think does help my eyelashes as Im scrubbing it off everynight whilst this comes off easy and it's waterproof. One of the other things I noticed is the brushes they are identical! The Benefit one is slightly thicker but they both have the spikey bits on the end to grab those tiny lashes this stuff is identical to Benefit and I would recommend it too anybody who doesn't like the Benefit price tag.
